Ausmusic T-Shirt Day 2020 is almost here!!

Friday, 20 November

For release – Thursday, 19 November 2020: It’s just one more sleep until your favourite music artists, music workers and music fans join together to shine a light on the needs of musicians, crew and industry workers by wearing their hearts on their sleeves, and their favourite music T-shirts, for Support Act’s Ausmusic T-Shirt Day.

Ausmusic T-Shirt Day helps raise desperately needed funds to meet the ever growing demand on Support Act’s services.

“With requests for Crisis Relief having increased by 883% and calls to the Support Act Wellbeing Helpline up by 52% since the pandemic hit, Support Act’s work is more essential than ever,” said Clive Miller, Support Act CEO. “We are asking everyone who loves Australian music – and the people who create it – to make a donation today, if they can.”

Some of our most well known and loved music artists across all music genres have thrown their support behind the event with Kylie Minogue, Keith Urban, Missy Higgins, Jessica Mauboy, Alex The Astronaut, Bliss n Eso, Bodyjar, Briggs, Caitlyn Shadbolt, Casey Barnes, Catherine Britt, Clowns, Dami Im, David Campbell, Diesel, Felicity Urquhart, Greta Bradman, Jaguar Jonze, Kim Churchill, KLP, Lime Cordiale, Magic Dirt, Mitch Tambo, Nathan Cavaleri, Ocean Grove, Ruel, Sheppard, Shihad, Simon Tedeschi, the Merindas, The Rubens, The Teskey Brothers, Travis Collins and Vanessa Amorosi to name a few, all showing their style and support by encouraging their fans to visit to set up a team or make an individual donation. Many other artists are posting their support on social media.  (See below for links to photos and videos from Ambassadors and Supporters)

Amy Shark, Ball Park Music, Briggs, Cold Chisel, Dope Lemon, Kate Miller-Heidke, Kylie Minogue, Midnight Oil, Paul Kelly, Ruel and The Teskey Brothers all donated designs for a Premium Range of Ausmusic Day T-Shirts, all of which sold out within a few weeks of going on sale.

We have some exciting additions to the day for this year. Our friends at Isol-aid, with support from the Australia Council, are throwing a party on Friday afternoon presenting a lineup of stellar Australian artists, via livestream to audiences across Australia, to help spread the word and importantly, raising funds for Support Act. Kicking off at 3.55pm AEDT, punters will be wowed by performances from Romy Vager, Dave Graney and Clare Moore, Gordon Koang, Mahalia Barnes, L-Fresh the Lion, Alex Lahey, Yirinda, Emily Wurramara, Melinda Schneider and Memphis LK. Tune in via the artists’ Instagram handles or

For 48 hours commencing at 7.00pm AEDT tonight, the inimitable Tim Minchin, will be holding a virtual album listening party performing his new album, Apart Together, in its entirety to celebrate the record’s general release. Featuring an enhanced 14-piece band, an extraordinary guest or two, the concert will be available online for just 48 hours. Support Act is the designated charity for Australia.

Ausmusic T-Shirt Day has also partnered with TikTok and the platform is encouraging users to create fun videos repping their favourites artists.

This year’s event boasts a brand new website, which has made setting up a team fundraising page, or making an individual donation, super easy. So far 900+ fundraisers are on board with $90K already raised.  At the time of writing this release, Travis Collins is leading the charge with over $15K raised through his channels. There’s still time to set up a fundraising page – just click here and then post your photos to socials using the hashtag #ausmusictshirtday and tag @supportact, @triplej, @aria_official.

For anyone still needing to buy a t-shirt, they can visit the merch section of their favourite artist website; or check out our Merch Partners page and buy shirts from 24Hundred, LovePoliceATM, Band T-Shirts, Sound Merch, Space Mirror, Warner Music Australia, Artist First, MerchFan, The Thread Shop, CrewCare, Imprint, Merch Jungle and The Araca Group, all of whom are donating a percentage of sales to the campaign.

Show your support for Australian music this Friday, Ausmusic T-Shirt Day, held during ARIA Week, and celebrated across triple j and the ABC as part of Ausmusic Month. Proudly brought to you by Support Act, triple j and ARIA.
