On October 15, Support Act is running the next instalment of On My Mind – ‘Creativity: Why We Create and How We Get Stuck’ . A soon to be announced industry panel will explore what creativity is, and how certain misconceptions and myths about it can impact our relationship with it.

Creativity is at the heart of the music industry, and one’s individual relationship with creativity and motivation can hugely impact productivity, self-worth and wellbeing. This event will showcase diverse perspectives of people who work in music, and their unique experience with their own creativity and how they harness it.

In this discussion our panellists will cover:

  • What is creativity? And if we’re born with it or if we can cultivate more of it.
  • The myths and misconceptions about creativity that hold us back.
  • Why we get stuck creatively and what we can do about it.
  • Values, and reconnecting with the “why” behind our art.
  • Any questions that you can submit to our panellists.

The music industry isn’t exactly the poster child for mental wellbeing – and until we confront what’s holding us back, our community will continue to pay the price. We want to help folks in the music community better understand the importance of mental health as well as reduce stigma and encourage open up important chats about stuff that impacts wellbeing, creativity & vitality.
