Touring can be a rewarding and exciting part of the muso-life. But it can also be lonely, draining and a bloody slog.
It’s not unusual for folks to find solace in substance use and other self-destructive behaviours to help manage the pressures of touring life – but there’s got to be a better way.
Join us in person (yes IRL!!!) or online from the Music Market on Thursday 30 June at 12.45pm (AEST), for On My Mind – On The Road: Supporting Mental Health & Wellbeing on Tour.
Support Act psychologist, Ash King, will host the session with artist and sessional drummer for Baker Boy and Chasing Ghosts, Benny Clark, The Teskey Brothers’s Brendon Love and lighting designer, Kait Hall, as they discuss life on the road and how together we might create a healthier, more supportive touring culture.
The music industry can be a challenging place to work. Support Act aims to support the music community to better understand the importance of mental health, reduce stigma and promote the importance of positive health and wellbeing.
Register for both your in-person or online pass here.
