Yarning Strong – 3 June Mabo Day

Register here

Join us for a very special edition of Yarning Strong in recognition and celebration of Mabo Day on 3rd June 2024 from 7pm AEST. Hosted by Kristal West, granddaughter to the legendary Dr Eddie Mabo and Dr Bonita Mabo, this event promises an immersive journey into the heart of Torres Strait Islander culture.

We’ll be exploring the profound concept of interconnectedness and the relation to mental health and wellbeing. We will also explore how the values that shine through the story of Mabo Day, connect with the values of First Nations music industry workers today.

Also joining Kristal West are panellists Royston NoellKee’ahn (proud Yalanji, Jirrbal, Badu Islander artist) and Will Pawa-Oui (Support Act’s First Nations Program Lead).

Thank you to JB HIFI for their ongoing support via the Helping Hands Program – JB-HIFI’s workplace giving program; and to theVictorian Government and Create NSWfor their support.
