Join us on Wednesday 29 May on Dharug Country at Arts and Cultural Exchange, Parramatta from 6pm-8:30pm, for Yarning Strong: The Transformative Power of Music

Prepare to embark on an exhilarating journey through the enchanting realms of music! In this electrifying Yarning Strong panel discussion, join our host DOBBY,  a drapper (drummer & rapper) know for his electrifying live performances whose roots run deep in the Muruwari and Ngemba lands of Weilmoringle and Brewarrina, NSW.

Joining Dobby is Dharug man Christopher Sainsbury, a notable and respected classical composer and Associate Professor in Composition at ANU. Wiradjuri/Yorta Yorta woman Kaleena Smith a musician and educator with a background as manager of an Indigenous unit in a university who is currently working as the First Nations Development Coordinator at MusicNSW and a member of the Stiff Gins. And Support Acts First Nations Social Worker Willem Brussen a Baramadagal/Burramattagal man of Dharug Country with a decade of experience across the homelessness, disability and Aboriginal support sectors including youth specific programs, community outreach programs for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness and working with culturally diverse communities.

So, join us as we explore the transformative power of music which becomes an ode to resilience, a celebration of culture, and a harmonious journey toward positive mental health and wellbeing outcomes.

This event will provide catering, tea, coffee and beverages.
