Donate to the Roger “Monty” Montgomery appeal
Roger has been a giant in mainstream music in Australia for over 30 years. He has worked in live performance, recording, arranging and directing in concert, television and studio.
He is highly respected and sought after, and has achieved career highlights most others can only dream of. These include:
Music Director for Normie Rowe, Gerry Marsden, Max Bygraves, Doug Ashdown, Warren Mitchell (Alf Garnet), Tony Worsely, and the 1987 Papal Visit; Conductor for the Melbourne production of “Cats” and Peter Ustinov – “Peter and the Wolf” tour; Music Manager Princess Cruise Lines (2008-2013); GTV9 Melbourne Pianist and synthesist for Bert Newton’s New Faces, Don Lane Show & Bert Newton Show (1976-85); Melbourne Pianist and synthesist for Johnny Young’s Young Talent Time (1978-1982); and 13 years as Music Director / Arranger for the Victoria Police.
Roger is losing his vision due to the formation of cataracts and he needs surgery to remove the cataracts and to enable him to continue working. He is currently working on a new show and is keen to finish this asap. The current wait for cataract surgery in the public health system is around 12 months, by which time Roger will be functionally blind. He can no longer read charts and is therefore unemployed.
If we can raise $10,000 over the next few weeks, Roger will be able to book in to have his cataracts removed in January! Please donate now!
