safeTALK – Suicide Prevention Training

safeTALK NEWS 1 768x433 1

Learn and practice powerful life-saving skills in just four hours.

Support Act has partnered with LivingWorks, Australia’s leading suicide intervention training organisation, to provide people who work in music access to free and important suicide prevention education.

The half-day workshop will provide you with the knowledge, confidence and language to reach out to someone thinking about suicide, support them in the moment, and connect them with further professional support.

Guided by a skilled and supportive trainer, safeTALK will equip you with the knowledge, confidence and hands-on skill practice and development to:

  • Identify when people might be having thoughts of suicide
  • Understand the reasons we may miss, dismiss or avoid suicide
  • Practice the simple yet effective TALK model of suicide alertness (Tell, Ask, Listen, and KeepSafe)
  • Engage and connect someone at risk with intervention resources for further support

A safe and supportive space open to everyone within the music community who wishes to break the stigma and build a safety network, and learn to to speak about and provide support around suicide.

Fees may occur.
