Mental health support for the creative industries
Supporting people when they need it most
Support Act is a registered charity and Public Benevolent Institution providing crisis relief and mental health support to people working in the music and wider creative industries who are experiencing, or are at risk of, hardship, distress, or mental ill health.
While Support Act has a long history supporting the music industry, our mental health programs and services now extend across the broader creative industries.
An integrated, EAP-style model
Support Act delivers a coordinated model of mental health support that reflects the core elements of an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), combining direct individual support with sector-specific education and training, with free access targeted to individuals and smaller creative organisations without a formal EAP.
Direct support (with AccessEAP)
Through the Support Act Wellbeing Helpline, creative workers can access free, confidential support, including:
- Professional counselling
- Mediation and conflict support
- Critical incident response and on-site support
- Coaching and guidance for managers
Counselling, mediation and critical incident support are delivered in partnership with AccessEAP.

Programs are culturally intelligent and community-led.
Who this is for
Individuals
Creative workers experiencing stress, distress, mental ill health or crisis; freelancers and sole traders seeking confidential support.
Small & medium-sized creative organisations
Teams without a formal EAP seeking practical mental health support, training and resources.
For these groups, Support Act’s integrated model can function as a practical alternative to a traditional EAP.
Larger organisations & peak bodies
Organisations with an existing EAP seeking sector-specific training or supplementary support. Programs can complement existing arrangements, or organisations may choose to engage Support Act as an industry-specific EAP partner through a tailored, fee-for-service arrangement.
Our purpose
All programs are delivered in line with Support Act’s charitable purpose: to reduce suffering and distress, support people through periods of vulnerability, and ensure creative workers are not left to face hardship alone.
Support Act can bring training programs and workshops to your workplace.
