International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrates women’s achievements and raises awareness about discrimination. This global movement highlights the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the globe, and is a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. 

The theme for IWD this year is “Accelerate Action”. This theme speaks to the need to take decisive steps to achieve gender equality, and calls for increased momentum in addressing systematic barriers and biases that women face.
